I just picked up a Browning Gold Hunter 3” chamber w/ 26” barrel, but I’m a little confused about whether it can take a 2¾” shell or not. I didn’t see anything in the instruction manual; however the description on Browning’s website makes it sound like it will, but it's not crystal clear. It just says something in a side note & it's not worded very clearly.

I would rather ask a stupid question than to do something stupid. Does anyone have any experience with this gun?

It should be able to take 2 3/4" as well as the 3" i dont know of any shotgun that wont take 2 3/4"

Yes, it will shoot 2 3/4" shells, but be aware that the very light shells might cause some cycling troubles. Won't hurt the gun in any way but it might not cycle well or might jam. Stick with one ounce and up target loads and all will be fine.

Hey HSMITH you are absouletly correct, you gotta shoot high brass heavy loads and it will work great.
