I have a norinco sks with a scope rail on the left side of the receiver riveted. When I had bought it I was told by a number of people that it was the sniper version of the rifle. I seen the scope at a gun show but it was sold already. The scope is also made by norico. If any one can give me any info were to get one it would be nice!
Thanks

Jacko, sounds like a civillian version by Norinco or an aftermarket add on.
A genuine "sniper SKS" is just a little hard to believe given the purpose, design, age and ballistics of the Simonov carbine!
If it is genuine...it could be worth squillions.

This is only an observation, but "The Siege of Firebase Gloria" (an outstanding Vietnam movie, by the way) depicted a VC sniper using just such a Simonov, scoped on a siderail mount. Maybe it really exists.

BigG..... we had two of these in our captured weapons office.... date = may 1968..
the scopes were PSO's (non lighted recticles)...
Jacko..... you can get side mounts now fairly easily from K-varcorp.com
