1917 Eddystone Enfield

A friend has an original action and bolt from a 1917 Enfield made at Eddystone. Does anyone know where to get a barrel and stock?

the orignal caliber for this rifle was .303 british, then we entered the war and we switched it to 30.06. I have even seen them in .300 win mag. The parts might be hard to find. Good luck.

up a vision of the same rifle, technically neither is correct in military terms. Officially, the
.30-’06 version of the British design is known as:
The United States Rifle, caliber .30, M1917 and is described as a breech loading rifle of
the bolt type. It is sometimes called the Enfield rifle (extracted from the War Department
Basic Field Manual 23-6), since it was developed at the Royal Small Arms Factory located
at Enfield Lock, in Middlesex and located approximately 11 miles north of London Bridge
on the outskirts of London.

yep, you can still find parts for em. Have been deer hunting with a sporterized version of this rifle for over 35 years. They shoot well and are very reliable unless condensation is allowed to freeze in the bolt assembly whereas no amount of breathing on it will allow it to fire with bedded deer still in your sights(yep) in this case just continue to aim rifle with one arm as you push the exposed part of the rear bolt assembly forward with the other until desired ignition is obtained.

Springfieldsporters.com is a great place to get all the small parts to restore a 1917 Enfield. Occasionally, JA and HS barrels can be found on eBay. There is usually a 1917 stock on eBay too.
