Blood tracking light

Now that season is over, did any of you guys try the new blood tracking light. Were they what they were advertised to be, or just another money maker.

I bought one, but didn't get a chance to use it for tracking. My kids did some testing with it and found that it doesn't help much for dried blood, however it is of some help with fresh blood.
