I'm considering getting a Pelican case for Christmas to keep a pistol in.
I'd love to see any pictures of your case set ups if you've got them. I'm still really torn on size and how much or little I want to pack in it.
Thanks!

Not really a very good picture, but I'll post it anyway.

Sure. These are the 1120 and the 1150. I have total confidence that I could throw one off a second story or drive over one with my car and the contents would be fine. We use them extensively in the military to transport sensitive equipment. I have yet to see one break or any of the contents be damaged.
I'd like to get some of the stiffer foam because the stock foam is a little soft for my liking.

The markup on these cases is huge.
This company seems to have the best prices and shipping I can find.

The 1150 case (full size handgun) is $24 from that vendor. The same one at Cabela's is $35 and Bass Pro is something like $44.
The 1120 (small auto's, J frames) is $20. Cabela's is $30.

Thanks guys, and AFshooter thanks for the link, those really are great prices.
I'm trying to decide between set ups you both have and a larger case that could hold some more magazines, flashlight, batteries, etc. Given the prices though, I'm more inclined to the set ups you guys have with a 1200.
Thanks again!

I've got a Pelican 1490 on my Christmas list. I plan to put a commander and government in it, and maybe my 239 as well. I think all 3 will fit, but I might make room for ammo or something instead.
Storm makes great cases, too. They're the exact same sizes as Pelican (+/- 1") and they're the same price or a little less.

We use these at my work to ship sensitive government items as stated above. Never thought about getting one to hold a gun, but I am glad I came across this post. I bet I could get myself a nice deal from work.
These things are extremely sturdy, but we all know that. :D

I'm also looking seriously about the Pelican 1490 as a case for my Ruger SRH. I like that its big enough to hold a couple of guns and maybe even a box or two of ammo to take to the range. I also like that it has built in locks on the latches. Its supposed to be a laptop computer case so if its tough enough to keep sensitive electronics safe it should do just fine for firearms.

I have used them to carry camera equip. for over 20 years. Not cheap and not as pretty as "Halliberts" (which are also good but more expensive). Both cases, "take a wammin and keep the stuff inside working"

This is what I've ordered for my upcoming PC1911. It may not protect against a flood but its purdy. :)
