Ya know the Win 1300's had a pretty good pump mechanism assist to get a faster rack on a followup shot. These new ones I'll bet will be pretty awesome.

How different from the 1300 will it be? I have the FNH "Police Shotgun" version from a few years ago.

Oh that's so unfair, not right, and un-American. It's like pulling the window shade down over a beautiful Southern sunset or putting a pair of baggy pants on a shapely gal. Just ain't right I tell ya.

The Defender is an 8-shot with 2 3/4" shells.
Mine starts out with 3 rounds of #4 buck, then 4 rounds of #00 Buck and a slug at the end.

That is not a picture of a shotgun...... Look at it on the larger view. It is several pictures put together to form of a shotgun. Look where the barrel is supposed to connect to the magazine tube. Why would they post such a picture?

looks ok. i see what you mean boris. i don't like the sling attachment being plastic built into the buttstock though. i would rather it be drilled and a metal sling attachment be there with a nut inside of the stock.

looks like the "defender" replacement is only a 5+1 capacity in lieu of 8 rounds as the 1300 held.
I wonder why they changed this?
They also eliminated the "triangular" mating of the stock and reciever.
I would like to see more of a premium grade speed pump from winchester before I get too excited.

I'll pass. I think that there are enough 'tactical' pumps on the market already.

With the deep corncob, I didn't care for this. No matter how I held it, would always torque my pinkie finger backwards and sideways. Harshly. put a mini Pachmayr rubber forearm on it and that didn't feel right.
I hated my 1300 Marine Defender, to use it at least. Light and handy, but makes you pay for it. Nice fieldstripping though, good trigger too, great pointer. Disliked the parkerized reciever when the pipes, bars and bolt, even sling stud were like chrome on a Harley, mirror finish.
Would be willing to try a 1300 Defender, wood stocked (or Camp Defender, like a pump set up for 3 Gun). Should have enough beef to not batter the shooter. Mine prolly was 6 pounds even, max.
