hd slugs

i had seen a thread a couple months ago about a slug coming out made like a glaser safety so you could use it for home defense. anyone know about it? i havent seen any of these on the shelves

Go to Polyshock.com, this is a 10 year work in progress and currently I have only seen data from 1 agency. I do not "believe" that these loads are available to the general public yet. I received a few under the table, and as yet have not found an adquate target to test.

I have to use rifled slugs in my shotgun because i have a rifled slug barrel,and the ammo i use is the Win platnuim tip 400 grain rifled slug.
I wounder how the Flechette round would do as a home defense round:eek:

The "problem" with Flechette round's is that each individual nail lacks adequate mass. They were made to extend the effective range of a scattergun an to penetrate dense jungle vegetation. They do well in this roll. There actual ability to "stop" folks has been hotly debated and is still in question.

I would be very carful using them in a rifled shotgun barrel, would not know what to expect.

Now i'm going to have to get me a 18 inch smooth bore and try them:D.As for the rifled slug barrel,it's what came with the gun when i bought it,but i did get a great deal at wal-mart spending a grand total of 164.96 nib.My gun is deafening and the recoil is almost to much,but great for deer hunting.

So what would be a good h/d round for my rifled slug barrel which is also ported.

Just remember their made from steel and can cause barrel damage quickly.
