Forst off a big thank you to everyone on this forum who purssuaded me to get the Browning BPS Stalk 12g 26inch barrell. It truly is the best pump action on the market today ... hands down. Amazing build quality, shoots beautifully and I will be able to pass it on to my grandchildren.
Now to my question, I took it skeet shooting the other day, and I am not sure if I used the right choke, the BPS comes with invector plus chokes, could someone give me a run down on the best applications for the three various chokes it comes with. Much appreciated and apologies if it has been asked before.

The "real" answer is to pattern your gun to find the pattern density at various ranges with each choke. But for a guide...
Skeet: Skeet or Improved.
Sporting clays/general hunting: Modified or Improved Modified.
Trap: Full.
I have one, but I'm not sure which 3 it came with.

I have the identical BPS and mine came with Improved, Modified and full. Later, I bought a turkey choke tube for it.
Usage is as stated by; zoomie

Where is BIGJIMP when you need him? He is crazy about BPS shotguns! ;) send him a P/M and he will tell you the absolute truth about BPS.
Not that others have not, but you might as well go to the source!
Tell him that SC Bob says: but an 870, it's better:)
Good Luck & Be Safe

Light Modified is the most versatile shotgun choke that there is. It is right in between Improved Cylinder and Modified in constriction. I use it heavily for both sporting clays and hunting with outstanding results.
So I would recommend that you buy an extra choke tube in light modified. If you do much skeet shooting, then also buy a skeet choke too.
