Model 88 Mossberg

Does anyone know much about this shotgun? I found one for $100 at a local gun shop and was wondering if this would be a good buy of if i would just be throwing my money away. I am only looking for a general purpose shotgun nothing elaborate. Thanks in advance.

is it a newer Maverick or old Mossberg 88?
2 bar action handle and condition is ok would pick it up.

I have a Mossberg Maverick 88 12ga 28 inch ribbed barrel and synthetic stocks. It is a good gun but does not have the top of receiver safety switch I really love. It is an american made gun that sells for under 200 clams new.

Pretty sure that it is a newer maverick i think that is what was on the reciever.

I have 1500 trouble free rounds through mine. Is it as nice as my ithaca DS...no...will it get the job done YES!
