What is your favorite liner-lock, lock-back or fixed blade that you carry on a daily basis? Mine is the Kershaw Storm II with the serration but I'm thinking about a new Kershaw Shallot?

In my humble opinion, Benchmade makes the finest non-custom knives out there. My EDC is a 550 Griptillian that has done 2 tours in Iraq. A close second is just about any Swiss Army Knife.

I carry an A.G. Russell feather Lite, Clip Point in ATS-34 Stainless Steel. It's light (1.5 oz.), fairly sturdy and the steel, field-sharpen-able blade takes and holds a sharp edge.

I keep a Cold Steel Voyager in my pocket along with a Leatherman on my belt. From what I've seen the CS knife is right at the point of diminishing returns. Sure there are better knives out there but at what cost? I got mine for $35, seven years ago. It's light, slim and holds a scary sharp edge well. The Leatherman is built like a tank. Both blades hold an edge, open and lock easily and seem easy to replace if damaged. Hard to fault the tool but I wouldn't buy one new given the views held by the owner.

I always have a CRKT multi-tool and/or a Elk Ridge hunter-skinner.

But I also like a good Gerber folder, or a Buck 110.

Yes. I have a Benchmade, too, liner-lock. My Gerber lever-lock that I got from my dad 35 years ago is still going strong. For everyday, I carry a cheap (~$10) Maxam 2.5" liner-lock. I figure if I lose it, so what?

Yeah, I've got a big USMC Ka-Bar, but rarely use it. A couple of Italian stilletos, a few other pocket knives, and a drawer-full of cheap-to-expensive kitchen knives.

I carry a Kershaw, or Gerber Gator, my friend swears by benchmade. Benchmade also has a lifetime warranty with a 5.00 charge for resharpening.

I have several leatherman folders that do most of the daily carry work.

I keep a CRKT crawford falcon in my laptop bag. It's a little large for the daily grind of cutting packages and stripping wires and such.

My EDC folder is a Benchmade a friend gave me after I lost my Cold steel folding knife. I just got a Cold Steel Roach belly knife(for 10 bucks) to use as a skinning knife. I have dressed 3 deer this year with it and I must say it rocks! The sheath is crap but the knife is a hoot to use. I ordered 3 more of them. I cannot tell you how many sheath knives I have lost skinning deer and elk. I guess I get all excited after the kill, gut the thing out and leave my knife in the woods for someone to find. I figured I would go with a cheap knife but one that was well made. The Cold Steel Roach belly fit the bill to a T. The sheath is not all that bad. It does the job and what more do you want with a $10 knife.

Pretty cool little knife. Opens by rollong your thumb across the top. Liner lock with an additional lock on the back that locks the lock, and a button to unlock the liner lock. Hollow ground, with a somewhat unconventional grind on the blade.

Normally carry one or two of these too.....
Boker Automatic Kalashnikov, a Benchmade Pardue 3550, or a Benchmade Striker 9100.

Fixed blade, one of these two....

Gerber MKII

I am a knife freak. I have dozens. I build knives, have made several custom blades for people. I've been carrying a knife for the majority of my life. then I got my current job, and obviously you can't be packing a weapon (YES, I said WEAPON) in a secure area, so now I rarely carry anything. But my current folding knife that I carry when I can is the Kershaw like the one in the picture above, but in the tanto/serrated style.

the fixed blade that i most recently fell in love with is the SOG Field Pup. Great knife.

Son of Seeker,

If your looking for a MKII, you can try Ebay. I've seen quite a few over there over the last year or so, but be prepared to pay, they have become pretty pricey.

The one in the pic is one of a pair I bought back in the late 80's early 90's. I never liked the ones with the serrations, and these were the last plain, wasp waisted blades I've seen offered.

Spyderco Tenacious.

Small enough to carry.
Big and sturdy enough for most jobs.
Cheap enough not to cry too much if I break or lose it.

I have a Spyderco Volpe for when I am feeling pretty.
I don't carry it much because it is too nice to use.

Also have a Kershaw Leek. I carry it when I dress up and don't want the bulk of the tenacious.

BTW, I am a Spyderco fan. The look rather ugly, but their ergonomics are great.

In my pocket: 100th Anniversery Buck two-blade 'pocket knife'.

In my 'man-purse' a Glock serrated bayonet, one very old (and very dear) no-name boot knife, one Cold Steel lightweight folder, and a few Swiss Army pocket knives of varied configuration.

I always like the case line up. Always had one. Smokey mountain knife works has a lot of differnt brands. You might give them a try. There prices are pretty good, and they have about everything.

Kershaw whirlwind is my favourite for edc(lightweight yet very solid with spring assist opening). Can't be beat for the price but right now I'm carrying a benchmade osbourne, great knife also but a lot more money than the whirlwind(and quite a bit heavier)

I have a kershaw whirlwind that I carried for a few years, Its a great knife but it got really loose after a while. No adjusting this amount of blade play.
For a little bit more you can get a Benchmade griptilian which should be the last EDC you ever buy.

Spyderco Native in S30V. I have that on me pretty much whenever I'm wearing pants.

I also carry a Victoria Classic SAK on my keychain.
