"Extra" digit on Ithaca Model 37 serial number

I have a Model 37 Standard 20 ga serial number 336324. I have been able to determine that it was manufactured in 1950, but as you can (hopefully) see from the attached picture, there is also the number 4 stamped under the serial number. What is the significance of the number 4?

Edit: Mystery solved! It is a full choke.

Now the real question is what is it worth? I guess we will find out when I post it on gunbroker!

If not have the headspace checked as the pre855,000 shotguns were individually mated and SNed.
After 855,000 the barrels were readily interchangeable.

I wasn't aware that the serial number appeared on more than one place, but I will check. The shotgun belonged to my late father-in-law and he bought it brand new and as far as my wife knows, it is all original. But then again, she was born the same year he bought the gun!
