I bet someone buys it, even at that ridiculous of a price. This reminds me of an article I read in the paper about people stocking up on "assault weapons" and ammunition as an investment/get rich quick scheme.

He has about $950 in accessories and the conversion. Still he is being about $500 greedy I would think. Offer him $1925 maybe he will take it :p

not only are the accessories expensive but extremely hard to come by these days so there is that "scarcity" premium. Buch like what is being put on 380 ammo these days.

Maybe they were hard to find back in February but not so much these days. Saiga Mags and even drums are available as are most of the accessories. Even the builders are catching up and taking conversion orders again. If it were a Tromix build then maybe but you can get that same shotgun built by a known gunsmith for less than that even with the drum.

The dude's insane. A Saiga 12 can be had box stock for $600, tops. Conversion parts are cheap; I'm getting ready to do mine and depending on the stock chosen, you're looking at about $150-250ish. The Galil style bolt handle and funky forearm may add a bit, but not that much. Ditto the sights. I wouldn't pay two kilobucks for one like that even if it was done by Tromix.

Somebody is apparently under the impression that converted Saigas are either rare or extremely valuable. They may be desired, but not THAT desired. The only person who will pay that is someone with no knowledge of the item.
