I have been handed 2 thousand 12ga red wads. I am trying to find someone who recognizes what make they are so I can work up a load to use them. I would appreciate any advice you can give me. Thanks, Bill Hamilton

Looks like a Herter's Chalice wad, out of production for a lot of years. If you need Herter's data, an e-mail address will get you some.

Great call -- you've got quite a memory.

hammy1111, Greetings and welcome aboard.
A word of concern: Are these wads still pliable after their long term storage?

I sure agree with 45 Colt. I remember seeing pics in an old Herters catalog that looked just like them.

Gentlemen: Thank you very much for your help with these wads. They are still very pliable and feel quite fresh or soft to me. If you have some loading recipes for them I would really appreciate it. My email address is: whamilton0666@rogers.com.

OK, I sent you the Herters Data Book. If you don't get it, holler.

NO PROB, Bud! Plenty of old curmudgeon re-loaders here... If not here you could try the reloader section but since the 3-5 regular reloader in here have 450 years reloading experience:D I figured they would know or could ask their pterodactyl buddies.... Not sayin' they are old as old is relative but I hear dinosaur farts that smell like a T-rex ate a BRONTO-saur whenever they go posting re-load info!
As you see there are 2 dino burger eaters!
