Endshake???

My accuracy has been a little off lately with my GP100. I've noticed a little play in the front to back axis of the cylinder (along the ejector rod). The cylinder still locks up quite well, but moves back and forth a little less than 1/8th inch. For those with GP100's, what is the normal amount of freeplay you have in your cylinder's front to back movement? It may be nothing, but I thought I'd check.

1/8th of an inch? Are you sure? That's the thickness of two pennies. If your cylinder will move that much in the closed position, then something is wrong.

"Poodleshooter" was one of the nicknames given to the M-16 when it was issued in SE Asia. Since I love my AR-15 I chose that handle. Also I think it's d*mn funny :D
As for the endshake, I looked again and it moves about the thickness of one penny. Perhaps a little over 1/16 would be a better estimate. This revolver has seen a LOT of use. Should I get some shims to correct this or just let a gunsmith handle it?

Call Ruger. You should be able to send it back to them and they should fix it for free. Poodleshooter, I love it!

That much endshake sure sounds excessive to me. I'd send the revolver to Ruger's service department with an explanatory note.
