I do own a SR9 and love the gun. It was a recalled for the trigger group safety recall and is an early model. You know what they say about waiting a year so the bus can be worked out when a new gun comes out. Should have listened, but the new Ruger bug bit me early.

Now that the Ruger SR9 has been modified the gun shoots well, handles well, and is a durable and fun gun to shoot.

Ruger makes excellent products and I own 10 of them. The avatar hasn't got a quarter of the guns I own know. Too many to put on the screen. Just a tad too much.

I will also admit to owning many Taurus products and come from where the owners congregate.

I do not own and 24/7 pistols but I do own their kin.

At the bottom of my avatar are links to two Ruger forums and the 1 Taurus forum. Those are there for info purposes only. Click on them if you want more info on the Ruger or Taurus guns.

Do searches, ask the members, or peruse the boards. That way you get an overall picture about everything as well as what these respondents have said.

It's all important.

There is one truth not to overlook. Looking for information on a specific make or model may mean going to specific gun sites and checking them out. That is in addition to what is printed at these forums.

One other caveat. If the respondents have no experience with a particular model or it's kin then their point of view is irrelevant to the proceedings. There are minor exceptions to that.

Here's the scoop on the Ruger SR9 and 24/7 comparisons or cross over info.

These are quality guns regardless of the make.

Oh, yes. There are those who think that owning a certain brand means a bias towards that particular gun and all data from the onwers ignored. There is only a grain of truth to that. Yes, there is some bias. The gun actually works well for the user and we're supposed to ignore that.

Following that line of reasoning means that anyone's experience and all views held by the actual users are null and void. That includes the people who think that way. In other words ALL experience or gun ownership of any brand, make, or model is totally irrelevant!

If the owners experience and use are not important then no one's experience and use is of any use.
How's that for fuzzy reasoning and "conventional wisdom"?

Only the people who actually own the particular brand, make, or model can speak with any authority on the particular make and model. There are some exceptions to that, but darn few.

What the owners and users really have had happen counts if it is real.

Second hand accounts are of little value.

The one observation I like that has no validity for any reason is the" I'm a gun seller or went to the gun shop and all of that brand I saw suck.

Then why, oh,why is the shop selling garbage? Either the gun shop owners and workers are incompetent or going out of business very, very soon.

Besides. I can claim also to have gone to many guns shops and seen nothing but pristine sparkling examples that were all better than average.

Neither case is verifiable and holds nothing of import.

So read away if you want to learn something from the links. If you're going to lay down good money for a gooddependable gun then research into all the facets of the guns are called for. If not, buyer beware.

Try the guns out and see which fits you and your needs. If the gun works for you then that's all that counts. Matters not what others think. It's what the gun means to you.
