No matter what you use, people will claim its no good, that their favorite is "better".

Its really hard to do better than Hoppe's for general bore cleaning. Its been around since 1903, and any problems have been fixed long ago.
It does just what it says it does and does it without any harm to the gun.
Not everything is better just because its newer.

And again, unless its been specifically formulated to remove copper fouling, it usually won't, which Kroil and other similar products don't do.
They do have their place but make sure its doing what you need.
If you want to clean moly or lead they are good, given time enough to work.
If you want to clean copper fouling, better use a copper cleaner like Hoppe's, which also does lead and carbon fouling.
