Ballistic gelatin testing results : 12 gauge 3.5" magnum, #1 buck

Hello. I have recently completed a test of Federal Premium 3.5" magnum, in Number 1 buckshot (27 pellets) .

One shot was fired into a 7x7x5.5" gelatin block, backed by a 16x7x6" block. 12 gauge had 20" barrel and cylinder choke. Upon firing, the 7x7x5.5" block was almost split into three pieces, both blocks were pushed off of the test stand, and the clamps holding the test platform to the stand were thrown ~ 3 feet away from the test stand.

Pellet 1 penetrated to 19.5"
Pellet 2 penetrated to 18.5"
Pellet 3 penetrated to 17.25"
Pellet 4 penetrated to 13.5"
Pellet 5 penetrated to 13.5"
Pellet 6 penetrated to 17.5"
Pellet 7 penetrated to 16.5"
Pellet 8 penetrated to 17.5"
Pellet 9 penetrated to 13.5"
Pellet 10 penetrated to 18.0"
Pellet 11 penetrated to 11.5"
Pellet 12 penetrated to 18.0"
Pellet 13 penetrated to 15.5"
Pellet 14 penetrated to 17.5"
Pellet 15 penetrated to 16.5"
Pellet 16 penetrated to 15.5"
Pellet 17 penetrated to 16.5"
Pellet 18 penetrated to 18.0"
Pellet 19 penetrated to 17.0"
Pellet 20 penetrated to 15.5"

The remaining 7 pellets were found around the blocks proximity or exited the sides and were not recovered.
