I once knew a young man who was an outstanding bullseye target shooter. Part of the reason was that he has lost the feeling in the end of his trigger finger due to nerve damage. As a consequence he couldn't feel when the trigger went off and didn't flinch. In other words he turned a handicap into a plus.

Another friend had also lost most of his trigger finger, but had special grips fitted to his pistol that allowed him to pull the trigger with the second finger. Did well too. I wish you luck. Don't give up - ever.
