Switch hands, switch trigger fingers, or when it heals up just use what's left of yours. No big deal. I knew a guy that was a State Trooper, his misdeed left him pinky, middle and thumb on his right hand. Yhe others were gone back to the last knuckle, no stumps or anything. He was still able to qualify with his pistol both hands.

Woodworkers must do this. I've seen fingers get planed off by planers, people nail themselves to the floor w/ a nail gun, etc. Lapses in attention tend to be costly when using power tools.
