To give everyone an idea of how tightly the air traffic is locked down, I'm sitting here in Kodiak Alaska across the street from a lake where float planes are based. I just spoke to a friend at one of these charter outfits. We're at the tail end of a three day storm and there are dozens (perhaps as many as hundred) people stuck out in the bush at remote fishing and hunting sites. Many of them are already overdue for pickup because of the weather and yet the FAA is not allowing even these small planes to fly out for these people!
I hope this doesn't go too long, doubtless somebody out there is running out of insulin or heart meds or something of that nature...
