Over ten years ago I begged Colt to produce the Python in .41 Special and give it another cool snake name.
They told me it was physically possible but that they felt no one would buy it.
Remington said they could make the ammunition, but would only do it IF a major company would produce the guns.

I did shoot a Single-Six chambered in .41 Special (hmmm wouldn't that make it a "Single Five"?) and while it was nice it just seemed a little small. I prefer a little longer cylinder since the 215gr SWC bullets were flush with the front.

I love my 2" Taurus .44 Special revolvers but if I could get the same gun in .41 special I'd switch in a heart beat. The .41 Special has the potential to vastly outperform the .40 S&W. And the shortened case would give us better loading density for lighter loads. Due to it's case size, the .41 Magnum is rather picky about how it shoots light loads.
