I'll also put a vote in for the Hornady SST sabot slugs...especially for range, last year I rebuilt an old 870 with an new Hasting rifled barrel and Choat Furniture......you have to hold about 6" high but can take a deer at 200 yards with that load.....which is saying something with any shotgun. I live in MD and except for the eastern shore and a few counties out past WV the whole state is shotgun only, no rifle.
