I had a bad experiance with a Springfield 1911 so it wouldnt be my first pick.
Plus it used to bite me and I had a hard time seeing the sights.
I have had great luck with both RIA and Taurus but I guess I was lucky
My S&W didnt cost much more and Its been a great gun
