I had the M77 MKII in .30-06 just like the one Adventurer 2 posted. You can buy and install a sling mount that will allow fitment of a Harris bipod. The stock is strong enough to handle the mount in that area. These were by far some of the toughest synthetic stocks made for any bolt gun by anybody. The stainless was very shiny as I recall. Mine was bought used with only 6 rounds through it, a Timney trigger, and a super junky Tasco scope, all for $450. I NEVER should have sold that gun, but I did. I now have a new M77 MKII Hawkeye All Weather in .30-06. My first M77 and this one were and are plenty accurate. The LC6 trigger is crisp, but a little heavy. The new recoil pads are 100 percent better than the old ones were. They actually work. The old ones just left a design on your shoulder. You can still buy the old style synthetic stock through Brownells. I will be buying one because they are indestructible.
