My MKII is dusky in the recess where 'Ruger' & logo is also, same as the rig with the dingo pic. I guess they just get that way. I've never worried about it, though. My 7mm rem mag is a scratched up work horse that's supplied my freezer for going on 15 years. Abuse and neglect, year-over-year, doesn't seem to bother them. I'm going to check zero and burn a box tomorrow, then abuse it again in two weeks, this time in the Rockies when I take the fight to those commie elk.
