I am a dude and find 40 S&W too snappy out of smaller pistols like the P239. Its not that it is too much but its snap vs a 45 push makes follow up shots much slower...

9mm and 45 are my preferred calibers..

That said if she likes the 40 then a simplified manual of arms is always good.
