It makes sense if said Chinese national found himself in an emotionally unstable situation (for whatever reason) and decided that suicide was a viable option. It's just that at that point his status as a Chinese national has
nothing whatsoever to do with the shootings; it could just as easily been a native-born citizen.
But yeah, considering the sketchy details still emerging and the unverified nature of the information I'd not be surprised to find out it's just complete BS anyway.
