It's totally illegal here in NC. No alcohol content allowable in your blood at all while carrying.
That being said, even if it were legal I'd avoid it. I would think it would look bad even if the incident you were involved in was justifiable. Beyond the legal issues, there are the strategic ones. Slowed reaction time, impaired judgement.
Just bad news period........
