I recently bought the 50AE because I wanted one since they came out. I also just got a S&W 500. I don't hunt and probably never will. I bought them because they are big and brutal to shoot. I have all the other guns I wanted and they were next on the list. It might sound like a waste to some people, but that's o.k. Spending $1000.00+ on a hunting rifle and scope is a waste to me. Just depends on what you want out or the hobby.
