I've handled this gun on a number of occasions and shot it couple times (not much, though)
I wasn't much impressed by its appearance, as it just feels cheap and plastic is... well, not as good as say Sigpro or Glock.
Firing is, well, nothing spectacular. it works, but that's all i can say. I know some people from easter Europe who bought Viking and later sold it, reverting to more expensive, but much more refined Glocks or Sigs... I'm not surprised, honestly.
You can find a brief write-up and some more pics on Viking here: http://world.guns.ru/handguns/hg145-e.htm

yes, most hi-cap Russian pistols (starting from Stechkin APS, but save for Mak clones) use double feed mags.
Much easier to load than single feed, also slightly bigger capacity.

man, i must tell you the sad truth - most of those 'self-defence' weapons are POS. they fire rubber bullets with muzzle energy in 30-50 Joules range (yup, that's 22-36 ft-lbs) :barf:
that's about the maximum that is permitted for self-defence here.

local name for these guns is "condom-throwers", and that's for a reason

never used one, and i think those are unavailable in Russia.
"tear gas" pistols are available in Russia since early 1990s, but are generally unpopular; 8 or 9mm "tear gas" ammo is almost inefective, and most tear guns are made from pot metal and thus terribly fragile and unreliable.
One of my friends universally refers to such guns as a "legal knuckle-dusters" (standard knuckle-dusters are illegal here )
