Building my first custom AR-15....Need Help!!!!!!!!!!!

I was just recently given a Kenco Arms multi caliber EH15-4 upper/lower. I was wondering what exact calibers I could build with it. I was told any 308/338/6.5 creedmoor would be a no go.......but a .50 beowulf would be okay. That confused me. Is it b/c the above mentioned use ar-10 assemblies or is there something I am missing? any help would be appreciated.

I put a Beowolf .50 for my Rock River Arms lower. It was a 6 month wait. Neat rifle.

Yes, the AR-10 or Panther LAR receiver will accept the .308 Winchester, 6.5 Creedmore, .260 Remington and .338 rounds. Those rounds are too long for the AR15 reciever.

The AR-15 lower receiver will work with uppers that are chambered in 6.5 Grendel, 6.8 SPC, 204 Ruger, .50 Beowulf, .450 Bushmaster, and a few others. The key has to do with the magazine size that the lower will accept.

AR15.com and M4 are great resources. Be prepared to do alot of reading there. Be aware that some of the different rounds that the AR15 style platform can adapt to may have teething problems that will need working out. The 6.5 Grendel is a nice round to shoot, but it has it's draw backs related to magazines and such.

If you are new to the AR 15 weapon system it may be best to build a 5.56 NATO chambered rifle. The customs calibers and accessories for it may prove frustrating to the novice. Personally, I would rather shoot a proven reliable design than fiddle with a new yet to be proven adaption to a new fad caliber, YMMV.

I'm confused too. I'm looking at Bohica Arms page @ http://www.bohicaarms.com/far50_features.html

There it says, "Simply pin our upper to your existing AR-15 lower receiver and experience the power of the .50 BMG!"
And without furthur discussion goes on to say,
"Chambers:
- 50 BMG
- 50 MATCH
- 50 DTC-EDM Spec
- 416 Barrett ™
- 338 Lapua Magnum"

LateNight, the upper you are looking at is using the AR-15 lower for nothing more than the firing mechanism and isn't using a magazine. It appears to be a single shot rifle.

AR lowers can only accept certain calibers to fit in the magwell. I will try to post a pic on www.ar15-kits.com to show them. most of the common calibers are 7.62 X 39, 6.8 SPC, 6.5, 300 whisper, .204 ruger , .223, and 5.56.
