Browning BT-99 Trap
Your thoughts on Browning BT-99 Trap shotgun w/factory recoil pad?
Bass Pro Model Number 017054402 Particularly interested in the recoil of the newest models as I have some slight shoulder and arm nerve issues (post surgery 2 yrs ago) I don't want to aggravate. Shot one maybe 30 years ago prior to shoulder issues, was really impressed with it on trap field where 50 rds shot excellent. My Win 101 recoil is too much for me.

GREAT GUN
One of the finest dedicated trap guns made IMO.
Weight and gun fit are the keys to managing recoil. Another option if you are recoil sensitive is a gas operated auto gun.

My experience with a BT99 is small, with W101 is tiny, but I would say that the Browning has less felt recoil. A LITTLE less.
But a gas operated auto like Remington or Beretta will have less recoil than any solid breech shotgun. |

for me a cxs citori doesnt beat me up. a 1100 trap gun gets under my cheek bone and hurts.
.....the gas gun that does it for me is a super x model one winchester from the 70s in trap grade. no face or shoulder agony. ....trap shooters do like showing off, at a practice ask to try some of the guns you would like. fwiw. |

they will kick some.
make sure you get a zero cast. if you area lefty and the gun is a righty..etc..itll bruise you. the heavier the gun, the better off youd be.

Win 101 seem to not fit most folks well, and thus the felt recoil is more severe. They are also lighter than the Browning so actual recoil will also be less. Get the Browning and shoot loads that are less than 1200 and using 7/8 payload. I reload a 3/4oz load for grins and giggles and it crushes targets.
