My gun room:
Theme ?.. no hunting shotguns or rifles so to say. No 40 Cal guns. Lots of military surplus pistols and rifles form 1880's to present, including inert munitions, flare guns. Cowboy revolvers, BP conversions, and rifles. Pink girl guns. Revolvers (I like snubbie) and pistol to include metal, shiny stainless and plastic. Have just about every manufacture of handguns. A few assault shotguns. 50 CAL Hand cannons all the way down to the smallest handguns. Accessories and ammo to complement. Over 150 firearms to date (Also have several closets where I keep all their boxes.) Last edited by rogertc1; December 7, 2008 at 07:40 PM. Reason: Also added |

It did not cost as much as you might thing. Careful buying and selling others help. Perhaps some will also like my Swiss Army. It begins with 1878 10.4mm revolver, then 1882s, 1929's and the pistols beginning with 1904.

Same theme as my tool boxes, "Utility". All my firearms are working guns with no special value or need beyond their use. Lots of Rugers!

I don't really have a theme. I'm an acquirer not a collector. I have no safe queens. Mine are all working guns. I suppose my theme could be old stuff as most of it is either pretty old to really old or clones of old stuff. Maybe it could be old west as I have more that fits that category than anything else but I do have quite a bit of stuff that doesn't fit that category at all.

My theme is one of every commonly available Caliber.(i.e. no obscure ones)
I have the Semi-Auto portion pretty well wrapped up. As far as revolvers go, I have decent dent in them as well. And since this is the handgun forum, I won't even start on longuns.

"Tools for the Job"
I collect guns I shoot best that fit my needs.
I don't need to own guns to look at, or to say I have, or to collect them, or to keep someone else from getting them. I collect guns I shoot best. I did start a Redhawk collection, but realized I was just "owning" guns, so I sold the versions that I didn't have a demonstrable need for. I used the funds (or traded) for more 1911s, and enhancing them.

More 1911s than anything else. Variety is the key for me though as I have a little bit of everything. All shooters, no safe queens...

I've always wondered why SIG 210's are so expensive and hard to acquire, now I know -- ZPITA is controlling the market!

I'll post a picture later, but the themes for my collection are:
-Wood and Steel (no polymer frames, yet) -Wood furniture preferred, but synthetic (somewhat) appreciated -Common calibers (.22LR, 9mm, .38SPL, .357 Magnum, .40S&W, 12ga) -Mostly .22LR (9 out of 18 guns), followed by .357/.38 (3 of 18), followed by 9mm (4 of 18) -Mostly handguns (16 of 18) -Mostly American-made (14 of 18) -Adjustable sights preferred, though fixed sights have their place -Hammer-fired preferred Last edited by kle; December 9, 2008 at 12:14 AM. |

I have no real discernable theme to my collection, beyond if I like and can afford it.
I go on different kicks now and again. I'll be big on cowboy-style gear for a while, then decide I like military history, then tactical, then decide to go black-powder..... I rarely sell or trade, because sooner or later I regret it. I suppose the most important thing in all of it though; it has to fire and be dependable. |
