Colt detective special .32??
Did Colt make a .32 cal. Det. Spec. that came with a shrouded ejector rod? And if not, is it possible to attach a .38 DS barrel to a .32 cal frame?

I'm pretty sure the answer to your first question is no.
The answer to your second question? No idea.

I believe that Colt discontinued .32 caliber Detective Specials before the models with shrouded ejector rods came out. As far as the barrel to frame conversion: I think the .38 and .32 caliber models use the same frame so the addition of a different barrel and cylinder (along with possibly having the gun re-timed) could convert a .32 caliber model to .38. As to why you would do this I don't know as the .32's seem to be less common than the .38's and should thus demand a slightly higher price. If you have a .32 and want a .38, you'd be better to sell it and buy a .38 rather than try to do some sort of conversion.

I've got a .32 Colt Detective Special made in the early 70's. I bought it new with a couple of boxes of ammo but I never got around to firing it. I'm just keeping it as a safe queen for now and may sell it some day.
As you can see it has the unshrouded ejector rod. As far as I know, Colt did not make a shrouded .32 DS. My gun was a special run and the last run of .32's as far as I know.
