Handgun for carry in Jurassic Park?
STI's 10mm "The Edge" or the Glock 20.

I love these 'Choose a gun for ..." threads!
Like some other posters said, taking only a handgun out to where nasty dinos might be encountered, would be pure bravado,but.... If handguns only,OK make mine a Desert Eagle 6'' in .50AE or .440 Corbon, and a 16-gauge Doughall Howdah. The DE in a shoulder holster, one mag in the gun, four more mags in pouches. The Howdah in a crossdraw holster, spare ammo in belt loops,15 at least. If I can have a rifle and a handgun to support the rifle,I want a M82A1 Barrett and a HK69 in 40mm Regards

Flaregun, if I don't get off the island it's hand to hand time and well..... Boys and girls, I don't care how hard you karate chop or joint lock a dino. You just became dinner.

I'd still bring my USP9 loaded with RBCD-LE version.
If one of those raptors-sized predators gets its gut torn open by those explosive rounds (I hope they do hit like H*&L!! ), HE's gonna be the main course, not me!!! Now for the T Rex or Spinosaurus.... Hmmmm... How about Ahnold's mini-gun in T-2?

I'm a fan of the TV series, "The Lost World", not to be confused with the several movies starring other actors. This is the TV show filmed in Queensland, Australia, starring Will Snow, Jennifer O'Dell, and Rachel Blakely.
They use Colt. 45 autos, Webley Mk. IV (commercial series) .38's. a brace of nickled Webley Mk. VI .455's, and a Colt Peacemaker, I guess in.45. And they use them well. Oh: Rachel as Marguerite has a S&W New Departure Safety Hammerless .38 and sometimes a Webley Mk. III .38. (Varies).Setting is in 1922. They use these guns effectively... usually on bad people on their remote South American plateau. But it amazes me that Rachel sometimes bumps off a raptor with her .38 when the men a few scenes back were afraid to shoot one with their rifles! Ah, television... Keep in mind that in Jurassic Park, handguns would be useful on bad guys and modern reptiles, which are presumably also there... I'd take my S&W M66 .357 or a M629 .44 Magnum. This doesn't address rifles, which would be needed on dinos of any real size. Lone Star P.S. Rachel Blakely has begun posting on the official "Lost World" board. As "bubba". Really. Asked how she got that name, the lovely Miss B. replied that it's what her "sweet boy" calls her in real life. (She's an Aussie; it probably equates to, "Sweetheart" here. Rachel? Bubba? Baffling. Try www.lostworldtv.net to see that board. Select the"message boards" button on the lower right of the main page. Last edited by Lone Star; October 2, 2002 at 07:17 AM. |

I guess the 45/70 &500/600 nitro are killer rounds but can you control it,probably not, you would have the flinch syndrome after the first shot, Id go with the 454 Casull, good power and controllable accuracy. got to know you limitations Aim small hit small. RAMbo.
