Hunting round help

Hello, I'm taking my S&W 29-3 .44 mag hunting this year (whitetail). Can anyone suggest a good round for this use? I will also have my Marlin 30-30 or my H&R 45-70. Just always wanted to take a deer with handgun. Thanx in advance for your help.

We've had good success with the Hornady XTP's here. Drill the shoulders and break 'em down!

I prefer a JSP or Cast bullet to a HP. Federal make a 300grn Cast-core bullet and Georgia Arms offers a 300grn JSP. Both shoot well out of my 6.5" S&W 629.
