Tell me about QuickLOAD
What does QuickLOAD involve?
Is this for the average shooter? If you have it would you buy it again? From what little I know it sounds like it might be fun.

QL is invaluable for reloading. If you are doing load work-ups with different bullets and powders, it will pay for itself in a month or two because you'll end up with far less jugs of powder 95% full from failed experiments.

"What does QuickLOAD involve?"
It requires very acurate meaurements of case capacity to produce the best results. It in internal ballisitcs software that uses a set of equations to model the burning perfomance of various powders, and then steps through (in time) the prssure and volume of the burning process. It can be very accurate (I have confirmed many calulations with chrono data) if the starting numbers are accurate. It does wander a little with differnet lots of powder as the burnig rate varies, but even that can be adjusted. "Is this for the average shooter?" For full use, probably for a more advanced hand loader. Anyone can use it to perform intersting 'What if' type calculations. It can be very revelaing about whne things like peak pressure occur (in time and bullet travel). "If you have it would you buy it again?" I use it frequently when working up new loads or changing powder lots. It was money well spent, but I have a number of old/wildcat guns. |

About $150 from neconos.com
You should get it. It will pay for itself in savings from failed experiments. |

"it will pay for itself in a month or two because you'll end up with far less jugs of powder"
It can also help you rapidly get to very accurate load (when used with Opt Barrel Time, OCW, etc), thus saving a lot of barrel wear. Only for the advanced reloader, I say. |

I use it to determine which powders will give me complete combustion at 100% case fill and near max pressure. These combinations also tend to shhot 1/2" groups with low ES and SD.
