Right now everybody here is at work (Nashville, TN). We're crying. It's terrible. A coworker called her mom in Chicago to make her leave; she works in a federal building. We want to drop a nuke on somebody's head right now. I think I'm going to puke.

I do hope cooler heads will prevail as far as any retaliation/s ....

Although Palenstenians are claiming "credit," we all know how things can be misread, misinterpreted through initial reports ...

One aspect, & I'm not wearing the tin hat, we will be less free from this time forward (again) ...... no finger pointing, nada, merely that there will be "extra security measures" put in place & that most everyone will gladly go along with them ....

A very sad day - for many reasons.

An anonymous source claimed credit for the attack as the DFLP; a formal representative for the DFLP denies making the attacks.

Defensive Front for the Liberation of Palestine.

Currently, DFLP says they do not attack civilians not involved with their struggle, etc.

STAY CALM, PEOPLE.

Please limit posts to facts rather than emotions and posturing.

Near Ohare here. A friend works at Ohare, they brought in all planes. CHAOS at the airport and police are all over blocking streets to the airport.

This is horrible news. Just Horrible.

Pentagon has been hit, Capitol Hill has been hit too. This is grim. This is beyond terrorism and has crossed over to acts of war.

Hijackings and possible bombings... Nasty Day.

this is a great tradgedy.......i have several freinds in manhattan right now working and they none of them can be reached.....i cant believe this.....actually......yes i can......FDR drive, lincoln tunnel, bridges, all on lock down. everyone here in NY that i have spoken to cant even move right now......

DFLP again denies involvement.

Moderator notes only bin laden has shown ability to coordinate such attacks in the past. This is only his supposition.

Current efforts are realted to rescue, treatment and prevention of further attacks.

Of course they are gonna take shots.
We strong arm everyone, so of course we have to expect a reaction.
People don't like being stepped on.
