Coming from an older era, it took till just a moment ago to realize you guys are talking about plastic bottles. I'm really glad I didn't try this at home (or anywhere else). And I must admit I was a bit befuddled by "cut a hole in the bottom of the bottle." Don't worry, I'll catch up.

Remember that suppressors don't eliminate noise, they just make them less noticeable as a firearm discharging.
Will a pillow muffle a firearm's discharge? Sure. Why would you want to? There aren't too many legal uses for that technique.
