147 grain, HST Federal ammunition comments, reviews?????
Hi
My local gunshop, Contra Costa Collectables is offering this ammo at 15 bucks a box, for 50. All I've been able to find is about 15" penetration, .70" or so expansion, and, fair velocity out of short barrels. Does anyone have a better value suggestion for ammunition for a Kahr PM 9? Here is the Double Tap loadings, but they are 100%, or actually more if I buy a 1000 rounds, then the HST... DoubleTap 9mm+P 115gr. Gold Dot JHP @ 1415fps - 12.00" / .70" 124gr. Gold Dot JHP @ 1310fps - 13.25" / .70" 147gr. Gold Dot JHP @ 1125fps - 14.00" / .66" |

Value you as in save your life? It's on Doc's approved list for 4" pistols and it's what I keep in my 3.5" M&P9c. For a 3" barreled PM9 I'd use the "Gold Dot for short barrels". There isn't any reason to go through JHPs like candy. Break in the PM9 with 250rd FMJ, run 100 rounds of your favored carry fodder to prove reliability and then go back to shooting JHP for weekly practice.

I'm after specific deals that I can either order on line, call, or go get in the Bay, or is that Gay, area? We had Prop 8 protests all over town today, with a news helicopter to boot.... I'd like to go shooting tomorrow... |

This is what I keep in my 9mms and where I get it. Your dealer is giving you a heck of a price.
http://www.ammunitiontogo.com/catalo...low-point-ammo This is what else I'd think about using in a PM9 but it's bloody expensive. I keep the equivalent in my PM40. http://www.midwayusa.com/eproductpag...eitemid=216634

Email me, and I can get you a VERY good price, like 12 bucks a box, for 1000 for the HST. It is kind of cool that the cheapest ammo I can find to break in my PM is going to be Federal HST... |

My understanding is it's over run for a police order...problem I have is Kali hasn't approved a semi-auto handgun this year. I'm trying to pick up a Dan Wesson Bobtail before it goes off the list in January, and, I won't to, unless I stop buying ammo..
