Colt Python date of manufacture.
Can anyone help me determine the birthdate of my Colt Python?
Serial # LA7257 Thanks in advance. |

Google "Proofhouse" - click on Colt and you should be able to hunt it up easily

Mine starts with a "K" and was made in 1983. If that's any help.
I'm going to have to google "proofhouse" per bedbugbilly. Sounds like an interesting site. Edit: Hmm, I went there. For the Python, it only had data up to 1978.

Colt Birthday
I think my gun was born in 1980, but like you, I found no info at the Proofhouse. Will call Colt customer service and see if they're of any help. Not holding my breath. Will let you know if successful.

Can you folks with the book do a King Cobra with serial number KK5xxx?
Probably early 90's, I'm thinking?

The "book" stops at 1985. After that, you have to call Colt.
