Remington LTR recoil
Anyone have a Remington LTR in .308?
What is the recoil like on such a light rifle (7.5 lbs)? I've got a nice CZ 550 with kevlar stock and the recoil is not a factor. But that rifle has a much longer barrel and weighs in at almost 10 lbs. Chaz Last edited by chaz12; January 7, 2010 at 12:56 PM. |

How many rounds are you going to shoot in a session? 100? You'll be feeling every one by the end. 5? You'll be fine.

Not an issue on mine either. I'm sure I could shoot 100 rounds in a session without a problem, although I don't shoot that many at one time.

I have one and as long as I dont go over 40 rounds a session it is not an issue. I have shot more than that and it does start to make me flinch.

Recoil is so relative to each individual, its hard to say. I can say that it it noticeably stiffer than a 24" and 26". HTH.

I don't find a 20" .308 to be bad at all. However, I'm with Savage_Jake, once I approach about 40 rounds recoil is a little more noticable.

My 18" semi auto PTR91 recoil is unobjectionable. Some folks are affected more than others by recoil.
That said, stock design does seem to affect recoil somewhat. |
