Best program for extracting sounds from a DVD?

Guys, just got a new confuser at work, and it needs some custom "beeps." It's got a DVD drive.

BTW, the DVD collection is proceeding apace... Next goal is to find a copy of Tremors 1,2,3.

Well, 'best' is a bit subjective. What operating system are you running?

If windoze, you can use the sound recorder to get up to 60seconds (I think). I use Sound Forge for heavy audio editing, but I doubt you'd need that.

e-mail me private if you need help, note that AFAIK the only file format that support 5.1 sound natively is MPEG-2 possible 3, and most sound cards don't support recording 5.1 sound.
