Any other owners out there, nice gun. I have the SSP blue steel, shoots real nice. First 1911 for me, love it.

I have a Para Tac 4 (.45ACP). It is a DAO with a 12+1 capacity. Great pistol. Good accuracy with Speer gold dot HP's. It is my duty HD weapon.

+1 on the Tac-Four. Occasional CCW firearm in the cooler time of the year (when it is easier to conceal under heavy clothing). Never a problem with any store bought ammo but have had a few FTF's with my own reloads. Blame me not the pistol...

I have a PXT SSP, also with the dark Regal finish with stainless controls. Looks awesome with wood grips. Shoots like a dream.

I've eyed the Warthog at times but haven't taken the plunge. Anyone have one?

Back to my PXT SSP.
When I decided to buy a 1911, I spent a day dry firing .45's in three different gun shops. I found that the only inexpensive, "non-custom"--around C$1100 where I live--that had an expensive-feeling trigger was the Para. |

Have you made any adjustments to the trigger? I see an allen screw that is adjustable.

I bought this in 1995 when I was still in college. I'll never sell her. Great gun, 100% reliable with anything you care to load. I put new grips and trigger on her, but other than that, she's a factory P-14...
No one ever accused me of being a great photographer. Sorry. |

It's an overtravel adjustment and is factory set. Unless you know what you are doing it is better left alone.

This Para 14 started life as a frame kit and with a Storm Lake barrel it is a great range/house gun. According to my tastes, my Para 14 is too large/heavy for a carry gun but, again, it makes a great range/house gun. Regards, Richard
