Anyone make guns a part of their costume this Halloween?

I pulled out my tired old cowboy outfit the first night (fri) complete with my Uberti Stamfords and then went with 007 (Sean Connery of course) the second night (sat) complete with PPK in a shoulder holster.

This is the Bond I was dressing as...

I had occasion a few years ago to construct a costume on an hour's notice.

Silver face make-up.
A scull cap made of aluminum foil
my boots covered with foil
a mylar "space blanket" survival sheet from my camping survival gear (a cape)
black pants, silvery shirt
RWS Spring-air pistol with a hooded front sight, all wrapped up in tinfoil as a "Ray Gun"

I believe it's his Bar. Not sure of Oregon's Laws(or any, as an owner go) But I would(legal or not) if it was mine.

Daughter and I went as characters from the Left4Dead game. I was Bill and she was Zoey. A couple of friends came along as Francis and Louis. It was really cool when people started to recognize who we were. -Goodspeed

As a kid, I dressed as an MP with a full sized 1911 plastic toy that shot little pellets (about 2 feet). There was an article in the paper how weapons based costumes are now banned at school - so no Roman legions or Zorro. I had a costume for a Roman also.

Yes, you can carry in a bar in Oregon as long as you are not drinking...and yes, it is my bar.

Nope, but at the party I went to some guy brought an airsoft gun and that was great fun. At least, I guess it was airsoft. He got it from wal-mart and it was spring powered. It was shaped like a Sig 226 and you had to rack the slide every time you wanted to fire it. Shot little orange balls at a sticky target. Weapon and target came in a set for about $20.

Other than that...a friend of mine said I should go as Tackelberry from Police Academy.

you stole my idea! i was gonna wear my cowboy rig (complete with charles daly sonora) as my costume, but decided to take my granddaughter trick or treating instead, and since she lives in the people's republik of Illinois, where the 2nd amendment does not apply.... oh well, maybe next year...lol!

This brings up bad memories from a couple of years ago. I decided to go as a chessy TV cop, Bad tie, white socks, shaved the goatee and left the mustache. An authentic looking badge(but not real), real handcuffs, and a empty pellet gun that looks like a 1911 in my Galco pancake holster.

I got a ride that night so I didn't have to worry about driving home from the bar. After being at the bar for about an hour some girl asks me what I'm suspossed to be. I jokinly answer that I'm not dressed up and just got off duty. Mind you that I'm at a bar Halloween party where everybody is dressed up, except for the people that I'm talking to at the moment. She then prceeds to ask me where I work and tells me her boyfriend is a cop. I explain to her that I'm dressed up for the party as her boyfriend comes up pulls out his badge and starts giving me hell.

Wants to know where I got the badge and tells me that I can't have it. Not wanting to start any trouble, I pull it off my belt and put it in my pocket. "Is this ok?" He tells me that it is and I start to walk away. As I'm walking away I hear him tell his girlfriend to tell him if she sees me put it back on. I whip right back around and ask him if he would feel more comfortable holding on to it for the night. He tells me no, but that gun has to go. "Well I didn't drive tonight so where do you want me to put it?" "Is it okay if I put it behind the bar?" He says that would be fine.

The worst part about all this is that he dogged me the rest of the night. I was bouncing between a couple groups of friends and he was always facing in my direction, staring me down.

I talked to a couple of my cop buddies the next day and they summed it up as a rookie with an axe to grind.

Completly ruined my night, but I didn't feel like starting anything with him and having him call his coworkers down to the bar.

Sorry about the long post. The moral to this story is that I will not ever carrry anything that even resembles a real gun on halloween.

Well, I wore a black T, with a black sport jacket, with a white square peace of match book on the collar looking almost like a priest, and many people said they liked my "costume"

And they didn't see my Airweight in my jeans pocket.

Exactly what I was thinking.. Or just a doofus trying to impress his girlfriend with what a macho cop he is. I had a super doofus cop for an uncle. He actually locked up his brakes (while off duty) to scream at a couple kids for tossing a football across a street (not a busy street) because he thought it would impress my parents

This was in Idaho in the 1980's. Vick B., you are a doofus

I was thinking of dressing as Elmer Fudd this year (shotgun included) but we just ended up staying home and having a family party.

Interestingly, the hosts' costumes included working black powder replicas, and one that was claimed to be an actual 1860 Colt; I was allowed to handle it. It looked like an 1860, but it was stamped "Patent of 1871". Did Colt update the 1860 design in 1871?

More interestingly, while the weapons were unloaded, they weren't zip-tied or otherwise disabled. Not sure what legal problems that might have posed, had they worn the costumes and firearms off premises.

Before we decided on attending the hosted event, we had thought about putting together some costumes. I was leaning toward Indiana Jones, but didn't have any non-working revolvers, and didn't think using one of my S&W's would be a good idea.

Anybody know where to find a decent replica of an M1917?

I dont have a pic but I went as a Russian, with US Military gear lol, all that was Ruskie was a hat and trench coat but I had a broken Colt python knockoff pellet gun in a thigh holster, had a bandoleer of 7.62X54R though!!
