For any who've used them, I received an Otis kit yesterday which I purchased for my M1A, and is supposedly specific to this weapon. I like the kit, but I should say, there were no specific instructions or a description of the components for this kit. Waiting for a response to an e-mail I just sent Otis.
So, I'm a little confused as to nomenclature and proper use. I get the principle for bore cleaning, but what about the action? Is the chamber brush attached to the rod and manipulated from the muzzle? What is the icepick-looking object (in clear vial) for? Is the retractable sponge in the black tube an optics cleaner? Etc. I apologize if this is me being dense, but anyone have any advice/experience to share? Thanks, SA Scott |
