I don't care for the DA trigger on either. But you can ignore the DA trigger on the HK. So HK.

I could flip a coin on those two and not feel undergunned if forced to own only one.
Although my familiarity with the USP series will gravitate me towards the HK. Plus, Schmakey's right. A USP could be carried either C&L or cond 2. And with nine available configurations to fit you. Check this out for details : www.hkpro.com

THe USP 45c is roughly the same size as the Sig P225. I own both and compared them recently.
The Sig P245 is a hard gun for me. I want to like it but the shorter grip has never felt right to me. I prefer the USP in this case.

I don't have much expertise in Sigs, but I love my Hk USP 45c, so the vote goes USP!!

sig 245 or USP compact
I was trying to decide between those two about two years ago; I couldn't find a local shop that had either for me to try so I bought both via mail order. The Sig was too small for hands - so it remains unfired in my safe and I've been carrying/using the H&K since. I don't know the Sig shoots but the H&K is a very nice handgun.
