Please help!! - Those who have a RCBS pro2000
All I need to do now is set the primer stop and powder measure. I ran into a big wall!!!!!
I'm trying to get the primer depth just right, I'm almost flush when I realize the return spring ( the one wraped around the spent primer tube) is preventing the shellplate from going any lower thus preventing a deeper primer seat, regardless of how much I shorten the primer stop. I was considering cutting a coil of the return spring, so i got out my heavy duty wire cutters. Not a scratch on the return spring, just a dent in my wire cutters!! I was also considering taking out the return spring all together. Has anyone else ran into this problem?? What did you do about it?? I'm loading .45acp btw. Thanks all |

I took off about half a coil and the primers are now able to seat below flush. I haven't fired any rounds yet. I'll let y'all know how that goes. Some folks have warned me about messing with the equipment in such a way, so I'm going to call RCBS in a little bit to see if what I'm doing is okay.
