Refinishing S&W m649: Satin or Gloss?
I will be refinishing my new-to-me S&W m649-2 this week. I am trying to decide whether I should do the final finish in a high gloss, satin brushed, or a bead blasted matte finish.
I am leaning towards high gloss. A mirror finish on a revolver is smoking. |

High gloss would bring out the compulsive in me. Any little scratch would drive me nuts. The bead blast is more subtle, and easier to see the real shape of the gun without reflections getting in the way.

Why not an overall matte finish with high polish highlights? Give it that custom finish look to match some of your other beautiful guns.
