200 gr 45 ACP
I recently bought some 200 gr SWC 45 ACP rounds for my S&W 22-4.They are commercial reloads. My revolver shoots a little low anyway with 230 gr and I'm wondering if these lighter bullets will shoot even lower?

Unless they are loaded really hot, they will print lower. The early runs of 22s (Thunder Ranch) all shot low, and S&W made a replacement sight available that "should" fix it. The stock sight is .250" tall, and I think the replacement is .230", but I had to shorten mine to .220" to get POA/POI in line. I don't know if S&W will pay shipping for the fix, so you have to decide if it's worth $75 or more to have them replace the sight, and even then it might not be right? A local 'smith can shorten the sight to whatever height you need, with you doing the shooting with your ammo, and it will probably cost less than $75.

Thanks
Now I'll know to adjust POA higher.I know a good gunsmith, but I've just been compensating with misalignment. All I've shot is 230 gr ACP or AR.The revolver is one of my all time faves.
